My Heart Is Full of Flowers - Virginia ‘Ginny’ Quinn
I have always loved painting but never made the time to enjoy it seriously until being inspired by the beautiful paintings of Claire Louise Dowson at Ferini Art Gallery. I have been painting for around six years now and, over that time, have enjoyed experimenting with fluid art, watercolour, acrylics and landscape painting through workshops. Each experience has helped me develop my skills and understanding of colour, light and composition, eventually leading me to discover within the last year that floral oil paintings are where my heart truly lies.
I call my painting style “My Heart Is Full of Flowers.” I love creating vintage-inspired floral paintings that reflect the warmth and charm of cottage living. Living in a cottage-style home provides constant inspiration, and I am drawn to the beauty of rustic interiors, weathered wood, vintage treasures and the way old and new can exist together in harmony.
The vintage-style frames I use are ethically sourced and handcrafted in South Africa and carefully chosen to complement each of my paintings. Their aged character and craftsmanship enhance the timeless feel I hope to capture in my work, making every piece feel complete.
